Hi,

I was wondering what those of you who use bait have as a bait bag. I am tired of using a "bumbag" and want to use something different.

Thanks

Sorry bumbag for me, as being a lone exhibitor need to keep my phone keys and purse with me too.

If I don't use a bum bag (i.e. if I don't need other things on me, such as mobile) I simply put the treats in my pocket. Doesn't even matter if it's hotdogs or similar as clothes tend to get washed. :)

I have a lovely slim leather bag which crosses over my shoulder.Got it from crufts last year and its great. Holds loads of treats which i need cos my dogs are greedy monsters. Also has several pockets to hold combs and tissues etc.

I'm another "smelly pocket " person.  Tried pouches of various sizes and always find the dogs chew a hole when I'm not paying attention!!  I buy machine washable suits  with pockets in the jacket and live with the smelly pockets!!  (and the slobber!!)

Me too!!  I use cord jackets which wash great every time.

Don't show,  but the pocket of my 'club' jacket suffers attempted muggings every week :-) J.wellbeloved do a 'pouch which has a belt clip on the back that will clip onto trousers pocket just as easily, may be what you are looking for.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have put bait in my pocket but my youngster knows it's there and tries to help himself if I don't give him something quick enough...he is a hungry fiend. I think I should have a Tesco truck in the ring with me for his bait!!
I have seen people use little bags that cross over their bodies but don't know how much they will hold.

Mikki do a nice cheap bait bag which has a loop on the bag for a belt.  I bought a small hiking bag (like a pocket) holds keys, money, a few treats, comb and poo bags :) and goes round my waist on a long loop it's neater than a bum bag on my dawn french type figure :D

I had one of those nice leather bait bags that goes over your shoulder but never got on with it :-(

I see a lot of different breeds with bumbags/bait bags as the norm in the ring whereas my first breed it's almost frowned upon to be seen "baiting" the dog.  I always keep treats in my pockets but a comment from Brainless makes me think a bumbag may help my situation at open shows (re purse & phone etc.)  What is the general consensus in the Gundog Group for bumbags anyone?

If I'm at a Champ show, obviously I don't like to leave my money/mobile in my bag at the bench when I'm in the ring, so I wear a money belt - it's got two pockets, and I can get treats in there as well!  And it's not bulky like a bum bag!

I have the same.......... however, i am now on my 4th having had 2 of them eaten and the 3rd i forgot to take teh bait out of and it all went a bit manky!

I use a leather shoulder type bag for open & Champ shows, and a bumbag for companion shows. I just have to keep the shoulder bag from bashing the dogs when I lean down to pick them up!
