Noooooooo LOL I hope I don't offend anyone here but I don't go to Bridgwater classes even though I live in Bridgwater.  I only go to ringcraft when I have a young puppy and then I use the Weston-Super-Mare one.  They know what they're doing ;)

Having seen the ring training or lack of learnt by of one of my pups it would appear that socialisation is the only benefit, or the handler just really doesn't have the knack :) that or the puppy is really thick :D

Seriously though this handler should have been advised at what speed the dog needs to be moved for best effect, how to keep it's attention so it doesn't pull away when moving etc.

my puppy is very well socialised and cetainly not thick I definitely think the handler will be the problem in this case!! (smiley inserted here if I still knew how to do them!) which is why I am interested in ringcraft. everyone looks so poised and elegant in the ring but I fear I would be a cross between Frank spencer and lee evans, does anyone actually fall over as Im sure I would.

Uh run into the ropes, the back of people when I am watching my dog and run up too close to the judge as not good gauging my stopping distance.  This level of (in)competence has taken me 20 years to learn :D :D :D  but we get by.

Ringcraft can be great fun for both you and the dog as dog gets to meet lots of canine chums which can give a very positive association with shows, and you get to know people and when your at a local Open show some of them are bound to be there so it is less daunting.

Sorry no.  I used to do working trials and obedience years and and years ago but have lost all touch with any trainers or clubs now.
