Has anyone tried this? Carolyn menteith reviewed it in your dog magazine and said it made her dog very lively, but i have not heard of it doing this before. I've been considering it for a while, but haven't as yet bothered. Has anyone else found it makes their dog hyper?
No, definitely didn't make my dogs extra hyper, but it didn't do anything for their teeth - instead they now have a marrow bone once a week, which really does work, even for my 15 year old collie! Also while my black dog was on plaque-off, he had a lot of red in his coat - since stopping it, he's not been red again. The people I bought it off said it was likely due to the iodine content.

I use plaque-off with my dogs. I used it once, didn't notice a difference and stopped. Then there were so many positive comments on this board, so I started again. With the same results - no difference.

I used it, you have to use it for a period of time I think, so it has time to be effective. I found that it didn't remove the plaque as such, but it did soften it so it became much easier to clean off with doggy toothpaste :-D ...........it didn't have any hyper-active effects either that I can remember. Do your place of work sell it Lucy? if not, I know Seadown have it in stock thses days :-)

I used it with no noticeable improvements at all. And I did use it for months to make sure I gave it a chance. I bought mine at Cruft's, my own vet recommends it, but I won't bother trying it again.
Yead we sell it at work, hence why i considered using it - staff discount! ;-)

I agree with sunbeams I give mine bones every now and again and their teeth are spotless (they are both still young though so that helps). I also give them rawhide chews and rope toys to chew on which also helps to cleen their teeth.

I used it on Lastar when he came over as he had chipped teeth from picking up bricks etc, from under the water and all sorts of dirt etc, had become ingrained in them. I used it on him for 4 weeks and it was fantastic. Now 4 years later I've never used it on him again and his teeth, although not bright white are looking so much better.
I occasionally use it on my others when they get slight tartar just to keep their teeth 100%. Bones etc, again are my main teeth cleaning method.
Same here, my dogs were on it for about two years, then I thought, pointless, as their teeth were brown, one dog had plaque, so started giving them marrow bones instead! (which cleaned them up lovely after only about 3 weeks).

I wouldnt know about Plaqueoff, I give my lot raw bones to munch on that does the trick with keeping their teeth clean. Even our girls, who are a brachcephalic breed, have lovely clean teeth thanks to the bones.
