Hi
If you have for example pet plan life cover and one of your dogs is diagnosed with heart murmur/arthritis say - is it just the diagnosis that is covered or is the medication covered as well do any of you happen to know ?
thanks for any help
Maxine
I've got Pet Plan insurance (Breeder Policy) and all medication prescribed by the vet has been covered (well, so far, touching wood!), including a bitch with a heart problem in old age, and another with arthritis.
HTH

My insurance (M&S) has so far covered all medication costs for both of my dogs, including joint supplements for my arthritic dog

Meds are covered as well, up to X amount per condition, or up to X amount per year depending on type of policy

I have more than they covered me for eye drop meds every month

thanks - I'm trying to decide whether to take a cover for life policy out now on my two cavaliers I adopted at the weekend - one aged one and one aged two...
quite expensive though £30 each.....
Maxine

My insurance with more than is £10.72 covers everything

Maxine I have one dog with M&S - cover for life - at a cost of £27 per month and the other dog is with Argos platinum cover which gives £6000 of unlimited time cover per incident and that costs me £73 per year. The Argos policy is underwritten by AXA but it is only the platinum cover that gives you the unlimited period of cover up to a maximum of £6000 per incident - the other levels are for 12 months only.

Congratulations on your new additions
Anna

Have you tried Direct Line for a quote, Maxine? They also do a 'for life' policy and I find them efficient.

Check your policy carefully. I had more than and it looked really good, but when I made a claim for more than £150 I got £2.80 back. They said I had to pay two lots of excess because the tests went over the first year and int the next. The whole of the testing took 4 weeks but it spanned the end of the first year and the beginning of the second. The final straw was when instead of taking the £50 excess I singed up to they took a percentage twice and told me they were quite entitled to do this.
We now have M&S which is excellent for us.
