I was quite pleased to see this on the BBC. Its quite fair to, Staffords, I thought. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7239464.stm   What are other Champdoggers views on it?

About time too!  A very responsible and informative article stating the obvious that Staffs are great dogs in the right hands.
Well done BBC!!

Sarah.

I'm not that convinced that it is the 'positive' article that all stafford owners will welcome though..
Perhaps I'm being cynical ...
Bold, fearless and totally reliable... and yes, very affectionate and intelligent... but let's get real, some people who do own them don't own them for the right reasons..
And whilst I think, okay, yes the article is showing that there are responsible owners/and Staffords can be yummy yummy dogs especially with children, then the minute a Stafford cross or something that is construed as a Stafford, OR is indeed a real KC reg'd Stafford bites a child or attacks another dog, the press wil be all over it again..
And I can't see that it is doing anything constructive to help the rescue situation ...

I read it over lunch, was really pleased to see it was so informative & not biased at all, my brother has a lovely natured staffie, Taz & he gets a lot of nasty comments when we're out walking together with my lab, who people always make a fuss of & ignore Taz, which I hate!  It's some a horrible generalisation, of from my experience what is a very nice breed!
