Did anyone see the episode of Pet Rescue that was on tv on sunday daytime?

There was a lovely lady who after visiting Greece in the 80's and went out and about saw some awful sights of cruelty especially to dogs, and was so scarred by the experience set up a charity to help dogs in Greece.
she gave donations to greek animal sanctuarys, one of them had to close so they hired a huge HGV and with volunteers went and got all the dogs from this sanctuary in Athens and brought them here.
It was brilliant, she also had homes lined up for everyone of them!

It was so emotional to see the hgv pull up and one by one these lovely dogs come trotting down the ramp, I couldnt stop crying. there was an especially lovely english setter cross who was really scared at first, but the lady having her already had a rescue english setter who was so gentle with her, it was lovely!

The acts like this really restore my faith in human nature, and shows there are still some good people left.
I know if i ever won the lotto I would be funding these types of small animal charitys who do so much good

I live in Devon and am very near to the commando training centre. Recently some of the marines that did their tour of duty in Iraq came back and have set up a charity in Iraq to bring back the stray and injured dogs.
The first 2 dogs to benefit are now in their new home (after spending time in quarantine) and live a happily life in a house beside the beach.
Aaah i love a happy ending, and it makes you realise that the worlds not such a bad place.:-)

Always said if I won the lottery I would open a dog shelter specialising in BullBreeds! :)

But I do aim to have my own dog boarding/ dog sanctuary by some time as I also want to be a dog trainer, figure I could do it all at home in my country house and be surrounded by dogs 24/7, sounds weird I know but it sounds like my idea of a heavenly job! :) :-P

Edited to add - No I dont own a country house for the record we plan on moving to the countysdie soon! lol :-D
