Not sure if thats how you spell it!does anyone on here own one? my good friends have decided that this is the dog for them and have decided to get a pup, they have both had big dogs before so no problem there,If there is anyone out there who  knows all about living with these dogs it would be nice if I could pass the message on,
Many thanks,
Ash

There are huge numbers bred, be very careful to go to someone who is breeding carefully, not producing many litters a year, and ceck out temperament of parents. They are a great breed but far too many bred for cash with no thought, contact the breed club for guidance.

Hi its spelt Dogue De Bordeaux, I have 3 used to be 4 so ask away anything you would like to ask and pass on. Good that they have experience in the bigger breeds to, your friends may want to go on a waiting list for a good puppy.

Ask your questions?

Make sure that both parents have been hipscored etc. as HD is a big problem in the breed.  We used to have a "pet" one come to our training club, she was a fantastic example in temperament and the best moving DDB that I have ever seen, she had a hipscore of 10 which is excellent for the breed.

Good luck to your friends in finding a suitable one, I think they are a lovely breed but unfortunately not everyone breeding them is doing it for the good of the breed although there are many wonderful breeders out there.  Just make sure that they do their homework and don't buy on a whim.
