Hi I am looking for a kennel & run for use by my 4 (10kg) dogs during the day. Any tips on what to look for? and flooring etc.

Not an expert on runs but here is whats in mine . galvanised steel panels,Concerete slabs , a nice big shed ( mine are medium sized dogs) which has laminate floor in it and a large  washable  rug and a plastic bench , used to give them sofa's but they destroyed them within two hours and was sick of the tip man thinking i was a tramp with ripped sofa's . And the steel panels have a roof on too. Working on getting a light down there as it is very dark in winter . I suppose as long as it is secure you can do what you want really. Mine is getting quite cosy actually , well for the hubby anyway    LOL if he starts  that is

Yup, I'll second that - it sounds just like my set up, I also have combination lock (not padlock) on the kennel door and the run door.  No need for insulation for my breed but they do appreciate their wall to wall carpet (it fits by coincidence and not good management - lol), but perhaps you should consider better insulation for your breed.  The kennel is made of marine plywood and I have put down a couple of extra 'slabs' to give a small platform inside the kennel itself (probably not described this very well) but my two love to get up a bit higher than each other and play 'king of the castle' (or should I say queen in my case) whether inside or out!  :D

Those sound great. My dogs will just be spending morning in them as OH works 3 hrs. I just know they will prefer it in the summer instead of the kitchen they use at present. But they do prefer the cold in the house and lie on the tiles and in any draughts they can find. During the evenings now my youngest two sit on the patio (back door open) as its too warm for them.
Thanks

Never thought of a paddlock on mine but my garden is pretty secure and if anyone tried to steal them they would have a difficult job of climbing the walls or fences with my pair .lol. My little cav never goes in the run though ,she prefers the sofa and i don't think i could subject the neighbours or my two huskies to her yapping...   lol

I know but I worry about them, we have a husky proof garden with the usual 6ft high fences etc but there were 4 huskies stolen by travellers in my area just over 12 months ago (the police found them)  I just know that if someone did try and take them they would both go willingly - they just love meeting new people and even more so if they are tempted with food.  :D
