Indi usually sleeps downstairs on her own. I mostly leave the stairgate open, in case she needs me, and she knows she can't just come upstairs of her own accord. however, after the last puppy went, which was at the beginning of January, I did let her come upstairs to sleep next to the bed most nights, as I felt sorry for her. (I am an idiot, I know!) Then I decided I really didn't want her upstairs, as it was gtetting a bit hairy, and my wedding dress is being stored up there, so she is now sleeping downstairs all the time again, with the stairgate shut, as she then took it upon herself to make her way upstairs whenever she felt like it.

She has been sleeping downstairs for the last two weeks or so, every night. The last two mornings, I have come down to a small amount of biley sick on the carpet, no food in it. She has been eating her normal meals, and not been sick any other time. Her poos are normal.

She is quite sensitive, and I am thinking it is maybe down to 'stress' being left alone, but as she has ben fine the other nights, I wonder what has upset her now.

I think I might leave the stairgate open and just make sure she stays downstairs, but maybe I'm making too much of it?

It may be stress but one of my dogs does it when she is hungry.

You could try giving her a little biscuit just before bed and it may take her through to the morning without hunger.

Worth a try.

There has been a fair bit of discussion on here about this type of sickness before and giving the dog something to eat later at night was the solution if I remember rightly. (Just a biscuit or something). Most people seemed to think it was caused by the stomach being empty but maybe she is a bit stressed with all that has been going on. I would certainly try giving her something to eat just before bedtime to see if it helps.

Thanks, I will try that. She did get a bonio before bed last night, but I'll maybe try giving her a small meal. I recently (not recently enough to have cause dthis though!) changed her to James Wellbeloved, and I do think she seems a bit hungrier on it, although is looking fantastic and loves it. She has been having her evening meal a bit earlier because of that.

thanks!
