Best in show - Dog shows and show dogs     Catherine G. Sutton 1980 issue 1

Does anyone know the history of this book, was it a one of or was it a book that was updated etc I don't mean reprints but actually like a series ..?

Just having a book case dust down.. my mother is always hunting out books for me and found this one for me just recently.

Very good book.

It is a book I bought when I got my first dog in 1988.  Still pretty relevant.

The book sells for around 60 quid and there's an interview with her daughter Patricia here. I've heard of her but don't have any personal knowledge of her.

How interesting   it is really comprehensive in the construction of the dog more so than most books I have seen.  It is the first edition. Signed by her.

Where examples of say eyes are often seen in 2 or 3 this has loads and loads.

Well a bit more info for you.. for anyone who is interested in a little tale :-)

My mum picked it up for £1  at the PDSA for me :-)     The PDSA are very good with her , she comes to me with a whole pile of books and I pick what ones I want to keep and she takes the rest back :-D :-D

Anyway she brought this one along with some other good ones

Tim Hutchings   "The complete Boxer" 50p brand new 1998
Jo Royle   "Boxer today" 50p brand new 1993
Ivor ward Davis  "Boxers"  50p think this is now out of print Brand new
Mary Hambleton "I wish I had a champion"  1991 50p Brand new   Mary is actually the breeder of my own boxer.

Now what is interesting is all the books were owned by  M Potter of Bairnsbridge boxer.  2 of the books personally signed for her by the authors and the Best in show just signed by the author..    Couldnt find anything on M Potter. Maybe some of you boxer people will know.

We dont show the boxer but I love any dog books :-)

Wee bargain she got..
