seeing as the barf diet is getting some airing tonight i wondered what people feeding this way did for diets.i will start by giving mine, giving that i read the ideal was 70% meat/bone, 20% pulped vegetables and 10% organ meat that is how i feed or as close to it as i can.
also i believe a dog needs between 15 and 20% of its bodyweight per week in meat/bones which for my 40lb male works to between 6 and 8lbs per week ie around a lb a day.so here goes how i feed
1lb chicken carcass
3 oz of veggie mush mixed with 1.5 oz of either raw liver or heart.to this i add on alternate days a little cottage cheese, natural yogurt, cider vinegar, tuna fish all mixed together with the veg + offal.plus a tablespoon of flax seed oil 3 x per week.
also everyday i add a vitamin supplement (keepers mix) as stated on the package and thats about it.would like to hear anyone elses recipes.
