Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / orijen dog food

Hi there everyone

I am sorry if this subject has already been discussed.

I have been recommeneded orijen food for my chi puppy, as I refuse to sell shop brands food to him ( too much rubbish in it for my liking) and wanted a GOOD quality food, natural ingredients etc. (no corn, maize etc)

I was wondering if anybody else feeds this to their pets? And if so what you think of it>?

I had previously thought that hills was a good brand food, and thankfully people on another forum put me right on that.

Someone also gave me a really usefull link to a page showing what ingredients to make sure you avoid.

nothing is too much for my pup as far as I am concerned ie cost is not the issue, his long term health is.

thanks guys :-)

It is a very good food in my opinion.

If you use the search facility it has been discussed on there a couple of times.

See here:

Hope this helps

I feed orijen and i cant say enough good things about it! I feed the puppy version to my guys as it has smaller kibbles and is higher in fat/protein than the adult formula

The people on your other site are correct about Hills...

yes, the link was the dog food project. I found it very interesting to read.
I dont think the majority of people know what rubbish is in pet foods.

I certainly believe a good food can help your pet stay healthier and happier for a longer life.

I mean, I wouldnt eat nothing byt mcdonalds (in fact i wint eat mcdonalds at all-ever) as it is junk, so i wouldnt feed my pet on nothing but junk and chemicals etc.

I had never heard of orijen before, but I understand it hasnt been available in the uk for very long.
