Hi,
Have been showing a few years now, embarrased but have this question.
If a dog wins a RCC or higher do they get a stud book number and can an affix be added on after?
Thanks

Hi,

Yes, a reserve CC will qualify a dog for the stud book.

No name changes can take place after award of a stud book number (or registration of progeny). Mind you, if it was a very recent award, there wouldn't be anything to stop you putting an application for the addition of an affix in to the KC ASAP and seeing whether it went through before the stud book number was processed.

I think you used to have a months leeway to add your affix after being awarded a stud book number but i'm not sure if this applies anymore.

Thank you for your replies
I do have my own affix, but this is a dog I have bought in.

Thanks.

A puppy I bred won the RCC at LKA and her owner ahd not added their new affix yet.  Teh KC told ehr she could apply within 21 days and get it added, I assume as it takes a few weeks for them to issue the award..
