Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Food Changeover/Move to Australia

Right, this could end up being a loooong question with many answers (hopefully!)

We're hoping to emigrate later this year, and the two complete foods that I currently feed my dogs are not available in Australia.
So that means a change.
They also will be in quarantine for approx. 30 days where they will be fed a complete food named Advance or a food of my choice sent in by local supplier...
All of this is going to have to be arranged as much in advance as possible..
I have found that the Eagle Pack, Pro Plan, Royal Canin, and a couple of others are fairly readily available both in the UK and Australia...
Would appreciate opinions on these foods, or any other suggestions/help anyone might have!
thank you!

Eagle pack is a v. good food and IMO better than the other 2 (no nasties in it).

I looked at Eagle Pack for a while however I found it wasn't very readily available here. I too agree that it is a v good food and much better than the other two. However every dog is different so perhaps just give it a try and if it doesn't suit then you have time to change to another one.

Good luck with the emigration

thank you both for your replies.. I'm very tempted to give Eagle Pack a trial run and see how the woofers get on with it :-)

They also have EVO,innova and california natural available. All 3 (from the same manufacturer) are better than the aforementioned foods IMHO :)

I think there's only one pet store chain(similar to PAH) that carries it in Oz, called "pets paradise".

http://www.petsparadise.com.au/mainSite.asp

Their site only lists innova, but i know they also carry the others i mentioned as alot of aussie folks from other boards i'm on feed it.You could try e mailing them to get all of the info.

Good luck and let me know how you get on.

thanks Ktee... I'm a bit wary of that particular site/chain for other reasons.....
Ad that's without living in Oz yet!
However, I appreciate all your help and will indeed keep searching and let you know how I get on
thanks again!

Further to this:

I was reading about Arden Grange...as some others had mentioned this was an excellent food...
what is your opinion re: beet pulp?
I read that this ingredient is included in Arden Grange (and possibly JW too)... and for this reason AG didn't get a very good rating on the dog nutrition review website..

So now I'm all confused again!  Although I do agree that the meat content in AG is better than either of the two foods I currently use!
