i was just looking for some information.my bitch had her litter 3 weeks ago,and although she is still feeding the pups.i was wondering whether i could also give them warm goats milk or does it have to be specialised puppy goats milk.they are also on 1 meal of puppy porridge a day.there is 11 of them.any help/advice/suggestions would be very grateful.

Hi Gentlgiant I would think by now the pups should be beginning to get more solids. you can give Goats milk I have in the past but they don't need it, they can get milk from Mum and you need to be weening them onto some more solid meals. I start mine off with raw minced beef (Freeze it first if fresh then thaw and feed as there is something in unfrozen uncooked beef that can kill, don't remember the name just not to feed it) Just a small amount in a squishy ball in your fingers and they will take it greedily, once a day to start then twice three times and looking to be feeding 4/5 times a day by five weeks. Increasing the variety of foods offered. We give beef chicken pilchards scrambled egg and a good quality puppy kibble (I use Royal Canin) of if you like to feed a Barf diet with all fresh food I am sure someone here will advise you as I don't and am not qualified to advise.
Good luck

Thanks

Royal Canin Giant puppy is what I have been feeding them but I will have a go at introducing some of the other foods that you have suggested.
