Have just finished a book called "The new art of breeding better dogs" by Kyle Onstott & his son. Some of it was tough going, and I had to read some chapters twice, but it is a fascinating book which covers genetics & Mendel etc.

I want to start reading up on genetics so I'll have a look later thanks for the tips:) Anyone else with any good books re Genetics since I'm still no closer to finding the book I'm after Well I've found it just need to wait until I can treat myself to it since it's so expensive:o

Genetics of the Dog by Malcolm B Willis is an excellent genetic book

That's like the one I'm looking for- I've been searching for 'The German Shepherd Dog; A Genetic History' by him- out of print though:) I've found it in America for about £65 ish- any ideas which one's the newer one or the price? I'll just have to wait until I can treat myself to it:)
