I need a internal door, but in the style of a stable so that I can open the top part of the door but leave the bottom closed. I have been searching on the internet but because my door measurement is bigger than the average size door I am having problems!! Someone suggested buying a Hardwood door and just cutting it through the middle, still thinking of doing this but would prefer a 'all ready made' stable door!! HELP
Have you tried Builders Merchants??? We can get near enough anything like that from there!!! IE Travis Perkins. Jacksons, Jewsons. And the more independant ones might be able to do more :) :) Lea :) :)
My husband is a carpenter and he said use an external one internally, he fitted one at a children's residential unit once. If the door lining is not rebated, just use the external stable door and move the door stop that is fitted to the door lining. I have no idea what any of this means and hope you do!
got ours from magum builders merchants, about 5 years ago one of the best buy it was half price and in hard wood, the side the dog stay most on we have coverd it with pvc so they dont damage it.and then it easy to wash down as well.
I have ordered my stable door!!!! :D :D Actually found it on the internet from a well known local DIY store! They dont have them in store but have them on their website! Now all I need is some new internal doors for my lounge, hall way, etc!! Thank you for your inputs everyone xx
Hi, sorry for delay in my reply, I have not been on here for quite a while!!! The stable door I bought was intact an external one in the end. I bought it on line at b & q which is now 3 years ago! I am not sure if they sell it anymore, the door have an external one in store but it only has one small window in the top, where as mine has the the top half double glazed Georgian effect windows with timber frames around each window. :)
