Topic Dog Boards / General / Where to buy a crate
- By The dachsie lad [gb] Date 28.12.07 10:31 UTC
Hi there

I have always bought quite expensive crates for my dachshunds and we had not intended to use a crate for our GSD pup - now 9 months old.  But she loves the dachsies' big crate that they share but it is still a little on the small side for her.  I don't want to pay too much for it as use will be limited and we are unlikely to be hauling it around much, if at all.  I found some cheap ones on canine kennels and wondered if anyone had bought from them or could recommend another supplier.  Prefer to go with 'tried and tested'.

Thanks.

This supplier is reliable, they are not overly expensive either,

Wow how cheap are they, I bought the same ones from pet partners for over £100. I know where I will be buying mine from now on.

Many thanks Moonmaiden.  They certainly are very reasonably priced and about what we wanted to pay so shall be ordering one shortly.

These have proved good enough for my breed: http://www.ukdogcrate.co.uk/ very  good prices, and I liked the silver colour better than the gold.  The base beds are a good idea, you slip the crate base inside so that the bedding stays put.

I have found the site you mentioned to be excellent, fast efficient service and the crates are good quality.

Agree with Moonmaiden.  I have had several crates from this supplier.  Delivery and service has been excellent.  I was wondering if the low price would sacrifice the sturdiness, but they are heavy duty quality, and I like the slide out metal trays.  Plastic does tend to get broken.  They are very well packaged, meaning less chance of damage in the post, and I would recommend the supplier to anyone.
