Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / How many?

Hi I have been lurking for a while but now need some advice.
I have a 15 month old boxer who is on Autarky and looking fab.  I have fed him raw chicken wings but don't know how many he should be having per day/week as he is already on a complete food so they are more of an addition rather a staple of his diet if you get what I mean.  I have also been giving him a raw egg yolk a couple of times a week (I understand these are better for them than the whites but I may be wrong!) and again wanted to know how many he could have.
Any help much appreciated

I don't think there is a set rule. I feed my lot part barf, part complete food. They have chicken wings once or twice a week and on those days I substitute one meal for the chicken wings, usually the breakfast. My border collies get 2 wings each and the borzois 4 each - so probably 3 or 4 for your boxer, these are the asda smartprice chicken wings which are actually quite big and meaty :)

Mine also get a whole egg once a week or so...I give them the whole egg, including shell in the garden. I love watching them eating it - youngest collie drops hers straight away on the slabs and wolfs it down, the others carry them off and lick them for a bit before piercing them :D

Another treat they love that is readily available is oxtail, and of course raw knuckle bones.

Claire, if you give them egg you give them the whole raw egg, including shells :)

Thanks for your advice.
I will try the whole egg - at least it will be entertaining to watch him.  How many would you say to give him a week as he really does enjoy them but I can't find any information (except that provided here ) that has any suggestions?

We feed our goldies Arden Grange complete food, they have a chicken wing each at lunchtime as a snack and rmb's a couple of times a week for sparkling teeth.

Two or three eggs per week is what I give mine :)

I'd say if your dog is looking great, then what you're feeding is working, so keep doing what you're doing!
My GSD bitch (fed on Arden Grange) has a whole egg, with shell twice a week :-)

Thanks for all your help.
Will be trying the whole egg out soon - not tonight though as I am at my parents and I don't think they would appreciate egg all over the new patio lol!!  He can't eat (or drink!!) without leaving a trail ALL over the place  so definitely won't be getting one inside.  Ever! Lol
