Have had booked a venue for several months-infact it is same hall we have used for the last several shows.

It is to be held in two weeks and I have just received the bill for the hire-and it has doubled-no previous knowledge-no letter to say fees have gone up.

This will dig far into our mere savings we have deposited in Clubs account.

As a secretary I am finding it difficult to come up with ideas of how to keep our heads above the water. Especially now that we can have only one open show a year.

We do still want to provide the service-and we do have people return year after year-so that in itself says that people still want the club to continue.

I took over this club five years ago with a mere pitance in the bank and I begged stealed and borrowed in the first three shows-in as much that my husband did all the work for the catalogues/schedules and printed them staying very late at work for several nights- to cut all costs.  Saving the club hundreds of pounds.

We did a Limit Show in the year and made about £50-great day and everyone enjoyed it. Even roped in my sister to look after kitchen all day !!

I am now approaching judges to see if they are interested in doing an "Evening With"-had one with a well known Gundog specialist and that went well.

I am rambling but all this took place this morning and I am really fed up.

Can't give a lot but I'd happily put a donation in for the Club.  I know it's not a lot of help but seeing as it's a local show I would like to help.
