I have a 6 month old miniature dachsund and he has started bighting at his testicals and his entire penis comes out. He's also been acting strange and whining alot too.  Is this normal or could there be a female in heat causing him to be this way. The vet said it was normal behavior but he also acts like there is pain to the touch. Just want to rule out tumor or cancer?????

He is masturbating as he is getting over excited, it is a little boy thing and he will grow out of it.

I was thinking the same thing but it just seemed strange the he was biting at the balls. Instead of the mouth on the penis like my other dog. Just want to rule out testical cancer but I guess the vet knows best. I have a bulldog that actually uses his paw to do it. haha So no need to nueter him then as he'll grow out of it?

As long as things are going back to normal in reasonable time and it doesn't all dry out then I suspect it feels uncomfortable, silly sausage.
