I read that article through the Bernese yahoo group and oh god, it really does tug at the heart strings and make you all teary eyed.

Yesterday was the second anniversary of my Elka's death.  She was the first of her bred that I have owned and my foundation bitch.  I now have her her great great great granddaughter.  I am fortunate being able to see reflections of her in her descendants, but I still get up in the morning expecting to be greeted by her face, and that of her daughter who died just 2 1/2 months later.

:( Barbara.

When I was a teenager my 8 month old cat got hit by a car and killed. I remember having a dream one night that I saw him coming back through the cat flap and then waking up and the awful feeling when I realised it hadn't been real.
