Dirty minds, the lot of you, im thinking something for the cats collars !!!

I live on the edge of a village and back onto farm land where at night they seem to be out lamping nearly every night.  I try to get my cats in at night but one of them tends to move out for days on end, she thinks she is a wild cat (she has just come back from a week stint ) and I worry that she will get shot if they catch her eyes in the lamp.  I want something reflective for them to have on their collars, I would rather not buy new collars because I like the ones they have but I cant find anything online or in the pet shops thats reflective to attach to the collars.  The flashing lights are no good because the batteries would run out by the time Delilah decides to come home !!

Just wondered if you champdoggers had any ideas ??

Any gun out lamping will know the difference between a cats eye and that of any other species. If they do not, then they should not be out lamping. However, if you want to make doubly sure for your own peace of mind then a simple reflective collar will do the job. It does not need to flash because the lamp will pick it up anyway.

Ive been told this admin by people who lamp, I just worry that it will be someone that doesnt care what they shoot.  The dont even pick up what they shoot, there is a dead fox over one of the footpaths :(

I found some :D Not sure how big they would be on a cat though, as most seem to be advertised as for dogs.

Thank you for these, I think they will be too big though for her (might weigh her down and stop her going to far though ! ) sad that they do these things for dogs which should be on lead when near roads - especially when its dark, but they dont do them for cats.  Looks like they will have to have new collars after all :)

Those seem to be the ones in the first link, although advertised as for dogs for some reason!

Found them in the petshop, also found some rather snazzy refelctive collars so went with those instead.

Why not buy one of the  cheap reflective vests/ jackets from the likes of B&Q and sew bits round the collar like rings.  (sorry not very good at explaining)  That way if they get caught on a bush ect the cat can get free without loosing its collar.
