Hi i am looking at buying a lovely puppy over here in england and i hear you an export at 8 weeks without a rabies inj. Am going to portugal. Or should you wait till 12 weeks and have a rabies inj and then export...

Obviously i want to take pup sooner rather than later but can not find any info the defra site confussing and my vet not sure..

We normally told clients to wait and have rabies but you know what it is like

Hope someone can help...many thanks clair:cool:

>Animals under three months old can only be brought into Portugal from an EU Member State if the owner can prove that young animals not yet weaned and are accompanying the mother.

You would only be able to take a puppy with it's mother if it was still the mother was nursing the puppy(ies)

This is the advice & these are the EU regulations
