Does anyone use shredded paper bedding in their kennels? Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated.

i do and in the back of my pick up,

the dog dry quicker on it than vet bed.no washing of dirty muddy bed, just sweep it up bin it or burn it,

but when it windy you bits of paper over the ground.

Does it sweat Terri? I am finding that the Vet bed sweats during the winter and this is what I am trying to avoid. The bed box inside the kennel is wooden and would contain the paper, so hopefully wouldn't blow about as such. Could I also ask where you source it from?

I do use ordinary newspaper on the floor of the kennels so that any wet is taken off their feet before they lie in their beds which have vet bed in.

I think the shredded paper is probably excellent but it would get scattered in my home set up (kennel just outside kitchen) with dogs free to come and go in and out of the house throughout the day weather permitting.

I've used shredded paper in the kennels too. It's clean and doesn't sweat but will get dragged about all over the place :D I changed to hay as it smells sweeter and doesn't make such a mess if dragged outside in the wet. Both hay and shredded paper are great for drying/cleaning muddy wet dogs but again hay seems to last longer. Some people don't like to use hay, worrying about mites etc but I must admit I've never had any problems.

no....have tried it but dont like it. once damp its like papier mache and never dries just goes in solid clumps! Also it sticks to the hounds jowles and then gets trapesed about everywhereand place looks a right mess with bits of paper everywhere.
