At what age should puppies stop having milk (goats milk ect).      My friends eight week old Yorkkshire Terrier arrived yesterday and she has been told by the breeder to just feed him puppy (dried food) and perhaps some boiled chicken now and then for a change.
She phoned today to say that he wouldn't eat the dried food for breakfast and was going to give him some chicken for dinner.   He is drinking plenty of water but if he isn't eating much.

They don't actually need milk once they're weaned. Your friend should stick to the breeder's advice - if she starts fiddling with his diet she could cause stomach upsets which could make him very ill, especially such a tiny breed.

Changing homes is very stressful for a puppy, and a temporary loss of appetite is quite normal. If she offers him the food he's used to (she could soak it in a little warm water if she wants) and he's drinking, then I'm sure he'll get his appetite back as he settles is.

They always find something to worry us with! And new puppies are particularly nerve-racking. I'm sure he'll settle in well and be fine. :)
