Hi

With that C time quickly aproaching I thought I better get my head in gear and start thinking about pressies. I have 3 people who are nightmares to buy for so I had a brain wave this morning and thought I could make up a hamper each for them so looking for ideas. One is a 40+ single guy.  Diabetic mother in law who cant use any sort of smellies as she is allergic to them. and a 60+ doggy friend who has everything.

They have to contain stuff that has long shelf life so no perisables as I want to start collecting stuff now and not sure when I will be seeing any of them to hand over pressies.

Thanks in advance

We made up a German themed C hamper for MIL as she is German, lots of smoked sausage, rollmop herrings (different kinds, scandinavian bicuits, Madeira Cake (she hates fruitcakes and dried fruit) apple pies, small individual jams and chutneys, box of chocolates and some small bottles of german wines, Kirsche etc.  Anything we knew she liked but would never spend out on as it would only be for one person :D  It was all packed into a beautiful storage box - IKEA do some lovely ones :)

This year we're thinking of buying her a slow-cooker (amongst other things) as she doesn't like cooking just for one.  That way she can use minimal electricity and make meals to freeze up :)

like that idea thanks. I have brought a couple of really nice baskets so will get some tissie paper and a couple of bows and  they should look the bis. Might leave the bows of the male one lol.

Will have a look at the Ikea boxes to they are just down the road from me as I might be able to get one I can wrap and send in the post to my mother.

Thanks

I did a hamper for OH's fussy mother last year.  I put some nice jams/preserves in it, some fancy biscuits, manuka honey (for her arthritis) and her favourite cherry liquers.  I think she liked it (not that she'd tell me).  Unfortunately she didn't choke on any of it

what an excellent idea!!!
Very interested in this thread as I too struggle to think of what to get some relatives for C! :D
I have a relative that is very fussy (what happened to the good spirit of C) she has nearly everything and can never decide what to get her, shes in her 60s lives alone.
any ideas???
