Just to say Good Luck to everyone showing at Leeds this weekend.

I am off to my caravan in this glorious weather to sit in the sun and relax, no driving about motorways for me now, retirement, bliss!!!!!!!

Make the most of the glorious weather - the forecast for the next few days is for rain! :(

Boo, I was hoping to meet the breeder of our puppy at Leeds tomorrow but I'm off to a wedding instead :-)

Not been to a show for ages so I'm a bit disappointed to miss out but I'm sure I'll still have a lovely day. Good luck to all exhibitors !

Claire, hope Alfie's op isn't too serious and that he makes a good recovery.

I will be at Dorset County tomorrow in N.S.C. Hound Special Yearling with my fawn Greyhound bitch.
Unfortunately my Pharaoh bitch will be absent (in season) - should be clear for Houndshow next Saturday.
Haven't entered Leeds.

I had factor 60 on  .. honestly and still come home with some burnt patch BUT I came home with the RCC so the burns are just at the back of my mind :-D

Factor 30 and a hat-so I escaped- not bad for a ginger!!!!!!
- By Chloe101 Date 28.07.08 09:49 UTC
Well done Blue.

Well in my usual position as show manager for my lot I was racing from one ring to the other as they were in stakes classes.  I had a good day though 2nd in 3 stakes classes although we were late for the dog class.

I was also gutted as I didnt get to take my mini as she is in season and it was Doug Kitchener who is one of my favourite judges.  I have never seen anyone who enjoys judging so much and he is always so happy.

OOOOh Blue....what a lovely day for you.......well done  :-) ;-)
- By ClaireyS Date 28.07.08 17:34 UTC
when we arrived at 8am this morning it was damp and blooming cold - I had to go and buy a new coat ;)

left about lunchtime and the sun was just coming through, I had conveniently borrowed my other halfs convertible (its more economic you know!) so me and Alf had the roof down for the 4  hour drive home and I now have one red shoulder and a seatbelt mark across my front

Alf had the lorry drivers in fits, sitting up in the traffic jams with big strings of drool hanging out down :)

we left at 2pm like you say for the 4 hour home drive,

but pagan was ok when she got out of the car then in the ring about 12.30 she was not herself andrew said it was the heat i said no,
i put it down travel sick she wasnt sick but it was a long drive from 5am to there, she want her self tail down wouldnt move out of the ring laying down looking sorry for herself but she still got 3rd and 2nd
got home blight as a button with the other dogs and went for a walk.
cost in petrol over £100 round trip so have just binn darlinton

Thanks Briedog for measuring Cora - not seen a fold up measuring stick like that before -
did you buy it abroad?
You measured Cora (Greyhound)at 66 cm  - the breed standard ideal is 68 cm - perhaps the sloping ground could
make a little difference!
She was 2nd out of 2 to a Saluki in N.S.C. Hound Special Yearling at Dorset County.
A Pharaoh hound won the group at Dorset County and at Leeds another Pharaoh won the group.

Sorry to read Pagan was not 100% today at Leeds - Cora plays with some Flatcoats at our local park-
they go in the river together. Also I know Roxy from the Isle of Wight as I used to live on the Island prior to
Autumn '97.
