Are you subscribed to Dog World online? If not, you won't be able to view the show results online. I check the dog papers in the newsagents if I'm expecting a critique from an open show, they're normally 4 weeks or longer before they appear................

im not subscribed, didnt realise i had to be. ive seen results from champ show, just not the open ones. would they be on the same page or somewhere different? my local newsagents is not very big, dont think it has the dog papers, would it be worthwhile to subscribe?

What particular show and breed are you looking for, I will check for you.

Depends on how many critiques you are getting ;-) :-D
It is cheaper to subscribe online than it is to buy the paper version, but also, your newsagents would get it in for you if you requested, but then to be fair to them, you'd have to take it weekly

the livingston show from the 7th june, hungarian vizsla, and my boy got a first at falkirk show, but that was only saturday, hes a ridgeback. thanks!

No nothing as yet.

Don't think you have to subscribe to Dog World online - it is free. It's only Our Dogs that you have to pay a subscription for.

Really?

Didn't think the open show critiques are free though in Dog World without subscription online unless I'm missing something?

Nor did I...........otherwise I've been wasting my money buying the hard copy from the newsagents :-D

I really don't believe you can get the open show results - nor the 'whole' paper to view online - you can however, from what I have seen, get breed notes plus hot stories and ch show critiques by breed. But I haven't seen the open show critiques anywhere? Looked yesterday in actual fact!
Surely the subscription must offer more - otherwise like you no need to buy the paper - mind you do like 'reading' the paper rather than online reading.

The whole paper is definitely available free to view each week - normally Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning, so often before the postal one is even here. Viewing through the website and searching you can only see breed notes and snippets though, I think, so you need to flick through the digital version of the paper to see everything.
I subscribe to OD online and DW postally - as DW is now free online, it would make more sense to swap really, but I prefer DW as a paper to read. Mind you, will be surprised if DW keep the digital edition free to view anyway.
M.

I am guessing that maybe you get the champ show results from a link to Fosse data or Higham Press. I would have thought that you would have to subscribe to get all other results. Do you actually get the critiques from the champ shows or just the placings.?

Digital edition can be found
here.

Its not the results as such it is the critiques for the champ shows - but nowhere can I see on the DW online any Open Show critieques - not the free version anyway?
Open show results aren't listed anywhere really are they - only via the critiques?

WOW - I really didn't know that was there - so why subscribe? I have used the website and looked at breed notes etc. but never knew the whole paper was there?
Interesting they have done this ?
Wow I didn't know it was there either and I've rummaged round this site for hours!! It does say it's only free to paper subscribers though...
I've used the link from Lily Mc to go direct to the digital edition but I still can't find it if I'm on the home page - HELP where is it?!?

on the link from Lily Mc it says this
Dog World Digital Edition
Dog World is pleased to offer free of charge access to digital editions of the paper to our
direct debit subscribers.
So by Lily subscribing postally she gets it free of charge - interesting that through the link we can view it though - oops!
It isn't on the home page as it says subscribe now!

I don't think that is it, I don't log in to view it and I have viewed it from different PCs - how would it know it was me??
Also know other people who view it through the link who don't subscribe postally.
Am confused now LOL.
M.

Nope, just had a look, definitely not logged in. I assume you're right Rachel and going direct via that link (which has been given out on this site by others before) is just a loophole that they haven't noticed yet.
M.

LOL - yep shhh lets keep it between ourselves then :)
I also looked to see if you were logged in ! As via the homepage can't see it anywhere!
Mind you I do like having my paper in my hands anyway to flick through with a cuppa :)
Mmmm, yes! As I don't show, I hadn't realised that open show results weren't available under the breed notes like the champ show results are. I just look at the breeds I'm interested in, and some of the features. I can't justify the cost of the paper every week, but it's nice to be able to keep in touch, and it's a lot easier to read (and more comprehensive) than Our Dogs is, unless you pay for an online subscription with OD - then you might as well get the paper.

so can you look at back issues ?? My boy had a critique a few weeks ago, I left the paper on the back seat of my OH's car and when he took the roof down it blew away :( I keep all his critiques in his scrap book and am trying to locate another.

Should be able to, Claire. Do you have a 'View Editions' button top right?
If not, tell me what you're looking for and I'll see if I can find it.
M.

When I had the sneaky peek they did have them.

found it, thanks :) have hit print so will go round and look at the printer later and see if its worked.
Now to get really complex, is there a way of finding out which critiques were in which edition ? I binned a paper without cutting out the critique from another open show that he did well at.

Probably easier to look at OD online if you don't know which paper you need, although they don't always appear in both. PM me with the details and I'll have a look for you.

If anyone wants me to check on results etc in the paper that they can't find online, I've got a stack of DW newspapers that I haven't thrown out yet...!

Great............have saved the link and will be able to check online now rather than suffer the embarrassment of peeking through in the Newsagents before I buy!

how much does the paper cost? im not doing enough shows with my boy yet to justufy sugning up for a direct debit, so may just buy the paper when i think he will be in it, will need to travel into town to get it, i stay in a village, and newsagents dont stock it.

I have just gone on to read the digital edition and it is now no longer free to anyone that doesn't subscribe by direct debit. I have just had to register to say that I am a DD subscriber so I'm just waiting on the email back now. Thought it was too good to be true that they would leave it free!!

Guess somebody mentioned it to them ! Oh well!

Probably, spoil sports :(
So frustrating - I did a couple of searches then the very next day I got an email about registering!!
Luckily I do subscribe but I know many that do not. Hopefully though there will always be someone on here willing to do a quick search for those people who just need an occasional look.

How long did it take the confirmation email so you could login. I registered last night but still waiting!!

I haven't had the confirmation email yet either, but have just tried and I can now get in, so I assume they've validated it but not sent an email.

Ok I might try and see if I can get in.
Yes I don't have the confirmation email yet but can still get in. They've added some information to the access page so I assumed I was looking at their most up to date version.

Both shows are not on Our Dogs site but not the breeds yet, will try to remember to keep looking for you.
