Perrodeagua is correct if you have anything but a
puppy anything other than a puppy does have to enter the breed class if there is one. However with a puppy you can enter the AV class instead if there is not a breed class for a puppy and you may progress forward from there is you win. This, incongruously, only applies to
puppies it does not apply to juniors or anyone else except if you have a veteran you may enter any class confined to veterans without entering a breed class first.
All but puppies and Veterans
must enter a breed class or a AVNSC class before entering any other class. However if there are breed or AVNSC classes for veterans then they must enter either their breed or AVNSC if they wish to progress to group or BIS, AV Veteran does not count it you wish to enter group or BIS but AV Puppy does.
I really am not sure what happens if your breed has a class but not for a puppy but there are puppy classes for AV Puppy and for AVNSC puppy, I assume you would have to enter the AV Puppy as I believe to enter the AVNSC classes the breed must not be classified at all. Who the hell writes these rules, perhaps they should try enforcing or more to the point understanding them.
