Is there any ruling against someone handling two dogs in the same class.  One will be mine which I'll be showing and the other is a dog bred by me?

That's an interesting question.  I can't say I've ever seen it done before, but that doesn't necessarily mean it can't be done.   I will be interested to find out the answer!

In what way Diane?  Will you be running them both and someone else stacking?

I have seen this done, so can't be any rules against it, maybe ring the show sec, or ask a steward on the day.

Yes so have I - a friend in English Setters had two bitches from the same litter - basically she would do everything except in the first initial line up, initial run of dogs together and final line up.

This was at champ shows she did this - I think it can confuse the judge and once they were out of junior she used to put them in different classes.

Have seen it done in a challenge but not in a class but providing someone will stack one of the dogs whilst you do the showing and moving of the other and then change over I see no problem but you should ask the steward to ask the judges permission.

There's no problem in doing so if you are having someone else stackking the dog in the line up.  Myself or my Dad have done this when only one of us can go to a show, plus mum, Mum stands the dog but we show it.  Just confuses the judges sometimes so make sure dogs stay in correct order.  I have also done this when showing my own dog but someone else wants me to handle their dog aswell.

Also in the YKC stakes it's very popular for those juniors having two dogs which they enter and get a friend to help them out but the owner has to show it.

You should remember though, although no rules against handling the two dogs, you should be displaying the correct number fo the dog you are showing.  Therefore when running the 2nd dog you should change ring numbers.  I however have never done this but it's something to bear in mind shoudl you feel anyone might get picky.

Yeah, the owner will be stacking the dog etc. but has asked me to move him.  I actually hope he beats my dog as he is nicer!!

Well your breeding to constantly improve right? :D  Good luck with handling the two!

Yes, its ok.   In LM's at SKC this year, the 2nd & 3rd in OB (Dam & daughter) are owned by the same person, she moves them both but a friend stacks the daughter.

Not a problem. I've seen instances of the owner standing her dog, but with a friend as a runner because of her physical disabilities. I've also helped someone out who had two dogs competing for the Group - she stacked then moved one while I held the other, then we swopped over. The judge was fine about it.
