Topic Dog Boards / Showing / show venue suggestions

I am looking for suggestions for a suitable show venue please.
Ideally middle of england so its central to all.
Must have:
rural location
area for marquee (wet weather) and outdoor ring
place for camping or very near a campsite that takes dog
prbably a hotel so there could be a sit down meal for approx 100 folk
so  ideally a country hotel thats not worried by large dogs.....with about 10 acres or so of flat grounds.
Anyone??? :)

Uttoxeter Racecourse?

Not sure if it's quite what you want as I don't know any details about this place except it's where the red and white setter club is holding it's 25th anniversary, a 3 day event including the breed champ show and conferance.

Might be worth looking into. :)

Hope it's some help!

Towcester Racecourse, but haven't been there for years so not sure what it's like now

There's the two agricultural colleges that allow camping, dogs & they also have student accommodation & canteen facilities, the Manor house burnt down this year but can't remember either name (someone with a TT will know as the Congress was held at this place & the other place was the previous Congress place).

Also there's a village hall in the middle of a field not a million miles from the Sports Connexion in Ryton on Dunsmore.  Very large field, that allows camping - can't get onto website I need to tell you the village name (think it begins with a B)

Really useless aren't I but there were good intentions & I will be back with the info once my pc is being friendlier ;-)

Bretford Village Hall nr Rugby, camping is £3.50 a night and the hall is £4 an hour to hire so not expensive.  It's sat in a huge field,  but finding it can be fun, it's up a narrow lane thats very easy to miss. http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/corporate/communit.nsf/WebPrint/D0D05D9508E88FA8802568400040E905?opendocument (ok lets see if that link works)

i think Bretford is going to be too basic for some folk....and we really need good place on site for a smart sit down meal....Morell hall looked perfect except its burned down!!!  Anyone else think of anywhere?

Hartpury college, three counties showground - off the top of my head, there must be some biggish hotels around that way as well...

Hartpury is probably horrifically expensive but it has all you need and more...

OK so my two are out & yes it was Bretford & Morton Morrell that burnt down - really not much help now am I?!

There is another agricultural college, but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called.  Any old TT people out there who went to the TT World Congress over 10 years ago (it might have been nearer 20 years ago :-( )

our breed club are using east of england show ground for their centenary celebrations there is camping, plenty of land and there must be somewhere onsite where you can have a meal as they are putting on a black tie dinner dance thing.

can certainly recomment the Royal Court in Keresly Sam, we had our breed show there is April, there were about 100+ Deerhounds staying at the hotel, and the staff weren't fazed at all by all these huge hounds loping about, and being let in and out at all hours for widdles etc...

the rooms were great, and they charged £5 per dog to stay in the room (there was also a £75 soilage charge but I don't know of anyone who actually paid it...)

the meal was fantastic, all in all a great experience, the second time the club has held its weekend show there and I dare say it won't be the last ;)

if you want any of the details from the schedule I have just pm me :)
