I went to a show today with my 9 month old lab pup and she got a 3rd place in an any variety gundog puppy class. I had at last got a ticket for my pup in a puppy class which I did not get from my other dog when she was a puppy.
To say I am estactic is an under statement.  I was even starting to wonder if she was going to ever get anything as a pup.  Someone will get a special treat later

Congratulations it is a lovely feeling to be so pleased. One thing thought you meant a CC, bet you wish it was, it is normal to call a CC a ticket and a place a, well place or award. Makes no difference to your achievement, well done.

Well done you!!  I can understand your excitement :-D

Just one small thing - I'm not sure it's a good idea to tell people your dog has a 'ticket'.  In showing terms a ticket is a Challenge Certificate.  Maybe better to say he got a 'placing'.  Doesn't make it any less of an exciting day for you though :)

Yes sorry it was a placing just abit over the moon today and forgot and meant to say instead of a ticket. Just a slip of the tongue...nothing meant by it.

Well I went to a companion show today, adn my gawky lanky youngster who si 15 months won the huge Hound and gundog class, witha  gundog specialist judgng, LOL :D

As pleased with that as with her Mother's/Granmother's CC's.  She showed really well, didn't fidget ahving her teeh looked at, in fact didn't even ahve time to steady her head, and she didn't mvoe a muscke. Normally it is wriggle wriggle sit down etc.

Know just how you feel Barbara.. aren't those somtimes the best wins... I am grinning right now too.. 2 open shows .. yesterday and today, with just 2 boys.. and have come home with 5 2nds and 6 1sts... from a very minor puppy and a dog with an attention span of a gnat ... its wonderful...

NOt taking away anything from colette, more that we know just how wonderful it feels... ;-)

Well done you and pup.  Just getting a placing in Labs is no mean feat, the classes can be HUGE!

Hope this is just the start of a really good year :)

Well done you.  I got BOB today which wasn't hard as I was the only one there, but the judge said that my dog moved really well and then later on in the day sI overheard her telling people what a wonderful mover the Spanish Water Dog was.  We got chucked out in the group but it made my day to hear someone praising him so much.

Well done that's great!

Perrodeagua, my Yankee got his first and only BOB at the weekend, we were the only ones there. He has a great head and movement but is a little big and not enough coat for the open show judges - but never mind, finally we might get a write up! :-D
