how did you get on today terri, it was portsmouth and southsea wasn't it?
- By rachelsetters Date 10.02.08 19:07 UTC
lol!  Well done Terri today!

I can vouch that Terri does not bite! :)

had a super chat with Claire and her Alfie -

Trouble is Terri - think you are too elusive you know!  I know last week one minute you were there next gone in a cloud of smoke!

Will drag her with me to say hello next time!

Glorious day weatherwise today - shame all the rings were inside - although the Gordons did go outside but wish we were inside as the ground was dreadful!

Daughter got 3rd in Junior Handling with the wee man in a very strong class - so proud of her she tried so hard and doesn't have the easiest of dogs to handle!

We did manage BPIB but although lots of entries HUGE absentees!  Couldn't stay for the group as had shoe shopping to do as Connor had eaten one of my daughters school shoes norty boy! :) and norty Emily for leaving them where he could have a sneaky munch!

 Rachel you grass !!!!

To be fair Terri, I saw you, but you were in the ring and I didnt see you again after that.  Are you at the Rivermead next week ?? I will hunt you down !

We got a 3rd today, out of 8 so not too bad (should have won really ;)  )

Rachels daughter did really well in junior handling, I know I struggle stretching to handle a setter so I dont know how one so small manages but she did a great job :)

Didnt stay for AV gundog, took the boys to the beach instead, where they had a lovely time, Fagan lost his pink frisbee in the sea because it was so rough I had to call him out (he would have drowned he was so determined to get it) they had one stand off with a labrador and then Alf had two fellow Irish beat him up !!  such lovely weather though, nothing could have ruined it.

And on the way home I stopped off in Gosport for petrol and only paid 101.9p for it - bargain :)

Hi

Im new on here but was pleased to see there are some local people.

I was at Portsmouth on Sunday - my little girl got Reserve Best Puppy in Terrier Group on our second outing so was really pleased.

Also going to Reading on Saturday so will keep an eye out and try to say hello.

- By LucyDogs [gb] Date 15.02.08 09:09 UTC
Ooh, another Queen fan, I just love their music, and have seen the musical about 3 times! My mum went to an amateur production of it and they were selling DVDs so I can watch it all the time now! :-D
- By ottoman Date 15.02.08 18:17 UTC
I am jealous of you. If you want me to take Pagan or tangle down for you , I am quite happy. I have the girls with me so all the dogs will be no trouble with Arnie ( am leaving otto at home ). Of course, you are about 4th in the ring behind labs so you could still have a lie in and make it down it time since I doubt you will be in until after 11!!!
will speak tomorrow
Forgot to say brilliant win for Pheonix! Can't wait to see him in the flesh!
- By Emz77 [gb] Date 15.02.08 20:45 UTC
where abouts in Reading do you show?
- By ClaireyS Date 15.02.08 20:58 UTC
the show is at the Rivermead leisure centre.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 15.02.08 22:19 UTC
Good luck to a certain person who is judging this weekend!  You'll enjoy it and if there's any new nice males attending (both two legged and four legged, he, he) don't forget to send details, he, he!
- By ottoman Date 16.02.08 17:12 UTC
Well, as usual only saw Terri today so how did everyone get on? Very pleased with Arnie as he won BOB.
- By ClaireyS Date 16.02.08 17:27 UTC
I didnt see anyone today, and we didnt get placed :(

had a nice run down the river though and the boys had a swim :)

I was parked next to a car with both Flatcoats and a spanish water dog but I dont think it was yours Teri ?!?!
- By ottoman Date 16.02.08 18:22 UTC
could have been Mike and Lyn Bryant, they have one of terri's spanish babies as well as flatcoats. You were in the ring after us, with the same judge, didn't he move us all loads!!!!
- By Emz77 [gb] Date 16.02.08 18:31 UTC
Thanks Claireys, couldn't get there anyway as my car has broken GRRRR, would love to have come to watch as it is only down the road from me sods law really. When will be the next one there?
- By ClaireyS Date 16.02.08 18:42 UTC
wasnt it a strange way of judging, moved loads  and then the whole class was put in order I assume of his preference, the first 5 being placed and the rest slung out !!  We would have been placed 6th I think ;)
- By ottoman Date 16.02.08 19:32 UTC
I think they do it like that quite often in the us. Zena thorn andrews did it in gsp's in bath last year  that and I had it done to me in scotland in november under an australian judge.  Can't complain since we won, it definately worked for us. Kept the dogs warm anyway!!!! Now still wondering whether to bother with ardingly tomorrow, will probably go then get slung then curse for botherting to go!!!!! Don't you just love dog showing!!!! LOL!!!
- By ottoman Date 16.02.08 19:33 UTC
they do hold quite a few shows there during the year, not sure when the next one is though, keep an eye on the forum, will try to let you know if I see one.
- By Emz77 [gb] Date 16.02.08 19:34 UTC
Thanks that would be good, is it an open show they hold there? would they do eye testing there etc??
- By ottoman Date 16.02.08 19:40 UTC
they are open shows there. Unfortunately I have never seen eye testing there but would love it if someone could tell you otherwise
- By Emz77 [gb] Date 16.02.08 20:21 UTC
ok thanks for the reply, you are probably right that they don't do it. Not to worry, thanks anyway
- By ClaireyS Date 16.02.08 21:46 UTC
they are holding an eye testing session on a tuesday night, I saw it advertised there.  You can contact the society and ask if you like http://www.maidenheaddcs.co.uk/contact_new.htm

- By Polly [gb] Date 17.02.08 14:16 UTC
Hi,

That was my notice about eye testing you saw! Small world eh? :-)

It is at Haddenham Village Hall just under an hours drive from Reading. Tuesday 19th February, Professor Peter Bedford is the examiner, if anybody is interested I run three evening sessions a year 5pm to 9pm always on a Tuesday night.

Next two are after this February one are in June and October, which always allows folks with more than one or two dogs spread the visits. Some breeders bring their bitches to one session and the dogs to the next.

I try to run them as close to the day each year, so if it is 19th Feb this year next year it would only change by a day or so.
- By MADDOG [gb] Date 17.02.08 17:00 UTC
I'll forgive you just this once!  Hope the knee gets better & that Tangle doesn't cause chaos by being in season.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 17.02.08 17:38 UTC
Don't forget to tell me who was entered and what you placed.  Look forward to hearing.!
- By briedog [gb] Date 17.02.08 19:57 UTC
