really exciting, for the first year ever cani-x are doing a run at crufts, starting in the main ring going out and finishing by the lakes.  It was basically a selection process as numbers were limited, ive just been told today that Fagan and I have been accepted !!  Fagans only chance of stepping foot inside crufts.  Poor Alfie is entered in the show that day so he cant run with us, his co-owner is going to show him if it clashes.

Diane - have you heard yet if you are in ??

Got to try hard to lose some weight now, dont want to roll around the big ring !!

Not officially, but I'm hoping that I have been!  I think that I'm the only SWD owner that's put in an entry so fingers crossed I'm going!!!

Last week in Our Dogs Peggy Grayson was most dismissive of this new fad for having your dogs pull called Canicross :D

I think she missed the point it isn't a way of dog walking it is canine + human cross country running.

You do have to travel for them Lea, I drove over 2 hours for the one I did at the weekend.  Its quite a new sport over here I think, I first heard of it about 18 months ago.  Hopefully as more people become interested they will put on more races.

It is VERY cross country, mostly held in forests and you get dragged through thick mud and manky puddles.  Alot of people who do it are proper runners like yourself, then there are those like me who do it for a bit of exercise, my boys love it.  I am getting into it though, hoping to do the neolithic half marathon in May.

Yep, I'm another one who only goes to try and keep fit.  There are people there who do double the distance that I do 10 minutes faster, he, he!  Maybe one day I will get a little bit fitter!

Crufts will be my third time.  Was lookng forward to the Lake District event but it was cancelled due to being so close to Crufts which is a shame.  Will have to get my VW up and running so that I can go further afield.

We have some great country parks in Bristol so I suppose some interested could set up a group, wherever you happen to be.
