Has anyone else noticed that the entry for non members for SKC (May) has risen to £23? I'm sure it won't be long until some societies are charging £25.

Also make sure you enter online before the postal closing date because after that they'll charge you £2 extra for the privilege.

Yes I saw that too!! I always enter on line, saves all the hassle of going to the PO for proof of posting. Haven't charged more in the past, it's a bit of a cheek.
Don't forget the parking charge on top of that!
Another £100 to enter a show - looks like I need to find a sugar daddy :-D
Perhaps the organisers of the SKC champs shows should realise that higher fees are the reason for smaller entries, every year the numbers go down, it is a catch 22 situation with the entry costs rising to well over the £20 people can only afford to take one dog, but on the other hand all the money on petrol (for me about £60,) makes it too far to go with just one dog, so the choice is this I stay at home!!!! as do many others

I agree, with all the travel to these far flung shows on top of the high entry fees, I am cutting back on the number of champ shows this year and will try to support some more open shows instead (and their prices are creeping up as well!)

I wished I only had the odd couple to travel that far to. For me it is only 30 mins to SKC :-) The rest of the year I have a huge journey to nearly every show.

a show that's very far away from where you live.

;-) Not quite the same terminology :-)

SKC is it's own worst enemy. Because entries are dwindling they put entry fees up (And charge for that Beirut landscaped carpark!) but then that causes people to only enter if they think they are going to do well, so entries go down. I can't fathom out how their entry fees are higher than Crufts, I'm sure the RHS is cheaper to hire than the NEC? Maybe they would be best cutting it back to 2 days again, a 'Sporting' day & a 'Non-Sporting' day & reduce costs by one day.

And charge for that Beirut landscaped carpark!) love it. :-) :-) is Beirut that bad.. Hopefully if they get the new one our problems will be over ;-) (
we will see though)
And the prices will go up again. With SKC a mere 2 hour drive south for me any Champ show is far flung ;-)
I won't be going to many shows this year. Now that I've got an extra one to show it's just far too expensive.

LOL if people only realised how lucky the are at times eh..
I was laughing at the
to these far flung shows like it was on another planet and a rididulous place to have a show ;-)

Just like to point out its the same distance up as it is down so what about all the scoots that have to travel to the rest of the shows, you;ve only got to do it a couple times for SKc/ Border Union, we've got to spend £££ and drive for hours to get to Crufts, Birmingham, Paighton, Welsh...
So is it really that bad.. Yes I don't lke SKC either but its my local show. it makes a change from at least 5 hours driving toless than one.
