I am hoping to give showing a go with my vizsla puppy when i get him soon, was wondering what age do you  take them to ring craft classes?
Also if anyone knows of any good ring craft classes in Yeovil, somerset or surrounding areas that would great?

Thanks Hayley

Hello Hayley

I start my dogs at ring craft as soon as they have had all there injections and the quaranteen period is over usually a week after the second injection.  Or ask your vet when your puppy is safe.  For the first couple of lessons I don't do any work with my dogs, I just let them take in all the noise and sights of the class.  As soon as I get my puppy I start training them, not for long periods a day, just the odd stand and going over them with my hands, and a little look at the teeth.  Every little helps IMO.

As for classes in your area I can't help you, but I'm sure someone will be along soon that can.

One more thing about the classes.........relax and enjoy them.

The Kennel club will be able to give you a, list.  I know Taunton & District CS run one and there are others.

Hi,  I'm in Yeovil and started going to ringcraft a couple years back.  I show my Akita and 2 Rotties and go to Donyatt Ringcraft, it is actually held in Chard.  Its held on Thursday evenings, if you'd like more info please PM me and i'll give you the number for the person who runs it.  You get a nice mixture of people and dogs there and everyone is really friendly.

Blimey...thought I was a lone voice in Yeovil, I show BMD's and have yet to find anyone else in Yeovil who shows!!
Maybe we should have a ringcraft club to ourselves??
I have been to the ringcraft held at Kingston just the other side of Illchester, think it's on a Wed or Thurs evening, but don't go on a regular basis.
How about a coffee morning sometime, My house is always open to doggie lovers?
Aileen.

I am another mad person in Yeovil who spends a fortune entering shows and getting up at silly o'clock to drive miles to them lol!
