As of this morning, instead of the bichon I had in full show coat, all ready for his first time at Crufts, I now have a poodle. The other dogs, unsure of the culprit (although I suspect Marley cos he's a wee bit mad), have 'eaten' Oscars' coat from his front legs making him look like a poodle with bracelets on his ankles

Can anyone recommend any supplements that might help his coat grow back any faster?? Its only a little over 2 months til Crufts, when he really must look his best. I was so looking forward to it :(

This isn't the first time this has happened, I can't really remember how long it took last time (last time his ear looked shaved, his front legs were wrecked and so were his hocks :rolleyes:)

WHY??? Oooh the little beasts, they must have heard me talking about Crufts and thought 'we'll show her'

So if anyone has any ideas at all, I'd be really grateful!!

Perhaps you should get another breed of dog like...... say... a quality Cavalier!!

I have never had a dog chew anothers coat, how odd? 

Two of my Spanish do, maybe it's a curly coated thing :d  Carmen's done it to her dad's front legs, well she actually nibbles as though she's eating a corn on the cob!  So poor Lastar has orangey brown legs!!

Very odd. But that just about sums Marley up.. odd :D He doesn't like to be left, ever and will usually try and get a tea towel to chew up or something similiar, but if neither are available, the nearest bichon will do :rolleyes: He wouldn't chew Geordi, because Geordi would beat him up for it, Oscar just sits there :rolleyes:

Oh no naughty little rascals!! maybe I could send Bella round to sort them out, especially Geordi!!!hehe.

I've never heard of dogs nibbling others hair off either,very intriguing.

Can't imagine one of mine allowing another dog to take such liberties with them or their personal space, though I have a friend whose bitch won't stop licking at her Mothers ears discolouring them, and at one time causing a haematoma, why the bitch allows it I don't know, we are talking of the younger one now at 4 years old.

A friends Norwegian Buhund pups nibbled the pyreneans chest coat until it was extremely sparse.  Mind you the pyrie wasn't too bright and just sat there and let them do it.

One of our Basenjis use to suck on the ears of our Buhunds, though thankfully their was never any damage done to the hair!

No, Cavaliers are no good, my girl destroyed my boy's ears as a puppy. My friend has Cavaliers with Bedlington style ears - long tassels but all the side fringe destroyed! :-D

Nothing wrong with a good poodle :D :D :D  Seriously though if its really that bad I think you have to accept the fact that its not going to have grown back properly by Crufts.  And do you really want to show your dog there when its not looking its absolute best?

Oh no I wouldn't take him unless he's perfect, there'd be no point in a long journey, long day etc
I had to miss a couple of shows last time it happened, boo hiss :( :(

And I'm not having you whingin' the whole way back!! Him indoors' driving is bad enough.
