Well now they have changed the ruling and you can take the Bronze and Silver together. My 8 month old passed both on Tuesday night. I am so pleased as I wasn't sure how steady he would be on his roadwalk but he really impressed me and behaved brilliantly.

Congratulations! Wonderful you can take both together now. Mine have been held up waiting for a test before.

Now you just need to get that stop, send away, down stay... :-D

Well done! Was there ever such a rule though? I did Bronze and Silver on the same night with two dogs of mine almost 5 years ago.

Congratulations :) Harley, my Golden Retriever, passed his gold test on Monday :) We did all three tests separately over the last 6 months or so.

Yes Marianne. They have only changed the rules quite recently as you could at one time only take one test at a time, never on the same night/day etc. As for the drop on recall, send away etc , now that is a completely different ball game, goodness only knows how long that will take to teach him.
Oh and well done to Harley.

yes I had to do them on seperate nights great that you can now do them together. Once you have done the bronze you  are in the right frame of mind to do the silver.

Well done .

Well done! I remember I did Silver and Gold with my Cav girl on the same day a year ago, I had no idea there was any rule. Next year I might try again for the Gold with my Yankee, 3 years ago when we tried it he got up in his downstay, and we've never got round to trying again.

Sendaways and stops are two exercises that I love the clicker for. I don't use it often but I trained my dog the sendaway in about 5 minutes and he had a stop going in any direction in a week. Little miss cute but dim took about 4 weeks of intermittant practice before the 40W bulb went on over her head on sendaways but she learned the stop in a week as well. Clickers are fantastic for teaching these.

Are the tests done at Championship Shows-I go on Toy Days however I want my Lab/Ret to do the test-so not on same day-I do not show Lab so would not go on gundog day.

Or are there dog clubs I can go to in the Stockport area to do the tests.

Thanks

Some shows offer the bronze test, I've never found a general show offering the higher levels though.
