Is there somewhere online where you can get a muzzle to fit Shih Tzus? I have a couple of grooming clients, one elderly girl in particular, who are quite snappy about having their feet and legs clipped or trimmed in any way. I tried my local petshop without any luck, then I googled 'shih tzu muzzle' and got lots of information about the correct shape of the head and face! :-)

couldn't you just wrap a soft bandage/silk scarf round their muzzles and tie it behind their heads? Ok, they can't pant - but they can't bite either :D
What about a cat muzzle that covers most of the face? (I've never really seen the point of cat muzzles as teeth are the least of your worries!!)

They make muzzles for cats?

Blimey! We use large towels ... :D
yeah, I've seen them in Groomers Catalogue, although a large towel is probably better and cheaper!!

I just looked at Groomers supplies website and couldn't see anything except the normal dog long nose muzzles, anyone got a link? I don't see how a scarf would work as a shih tzu has such a tiny squashed face I think covering it in a bandage would stifle her, and she could bite nicely through a silk scarf, even if I owned one!

you don't cover their mouth with the bandage/scarf  :D Its a standard quick muzzle, you loop the bandage over the nose and tie behind the head.
Scroll down
here to see how to apply the bandage muzzle to a snub nosed dog :)

Do they make kitten straight jackets

:D :D
Could do with a pair here :D

Could you not use one of these bucket collar things they use after surgery to keep them from turning to bite you?

I'm wary to buy the cat ones without a picture. I don't think the scarf would work as she has such horrible sores under her eyes I wouldn't want to risk rubbing them. I like the idea of the e-collar, I'll give that a go perhaps! :-)
