I'm at an open show tomorrow not judged on the group system.

As there are no classes in my breed I have entered AV Gundog Puppy & Junior (for experience as my pup is up into Junior next week).  I have not entered AVNSC.  To be honest until I read the schedule cover to cover I didn't even see it listed!!

Will there be a challenge for Best AV Gundog and if there is and I win Best AV Gundog Puppy does this allow me to go for BPIS even though I haven't entered the AVNSC classes?

I realise that if the show was judged on the group system I would only be able to go forward to the group if winning AVSNC but on non group isn't it just every unbeaten for the BPIS / BIS?

Incidentally I've done exactly the same thing for the show we've entered for Monday.

As the show is not judged on the group system, you can go into BPIS if you win the AV gundog puppy class.  You can still go in it even if you're not beaten by a puppy but placed Junior (as long as you've won puppy).  I doubt there will be a challenge for best AV Gundog.  Sometimes there is but it's not usually the case.

I'll make sure in future to scour the schedule for the AVNSC especially if it's on the group system.
