...on Goldmali Brown Sugar getting the RCC at (wet ) Wales yesterday...oh and did anyone else get completely lost after following the deviation signs when they closed the A44 ? - I ended up doing a tour of the Brecons and my Sat Nav had a nervous breakdown -kept trying to take me up a farm track !  - eventually when I found Builth it was snarled up  with traffic at a standstill as some bright spark had organised the 'Heart of Wales country show' on the same weekend and at the same venue !
- made it to the show at 9.50 - judging started at 10.000 - phew !!.

Remind me again why we do this

Well done Marianne!

right Yvonne, I'm just getting ready to go into the ring for the first time - are you saying I'm a dafty for thinking of it ;-)

oooh well done Marianne. Brilliant result.
- By Goldmali Date 19.08.07 15:15 UTC
Lori, you HAVE to be insane to show dogs!!! ;)
- By Lori Date 19.08.07 20:03 UTC
well I am thinking of swapping my wonderful, 2 YO estate for an MPV since the dogs will have more room and the seating would make a perfect refuge for sitting around at a show! let the insanity begin!

Well done, Marianne! Fantastic result! :)

Oh thank you Yvonne! :) I was SOOOOOO pleased! :D :D Also absolutely delighted with this bitch's sire being made up to Champion as I absolutely adore him and he belongs to a very good friend, so what a day! (Just to add, Brown Sugar "Tanni" is not my own dog, but I couldn't have been more pleased as I bred her and her owner was so happy.)

Yes we had the same thing with the road closure, loads of people did, quite funny really because a lot of cars were backed up totally lost, and every single one were dog exhibitors! On our way home we managed to find the diversion signs and the diversion took an hour. We were up at 4 am yesterday, journey took over 5 hours, back home gone midnight, I am still shattered! But it was worth it. :D

- By Trevor [gb] Date 19.08.07 15:14 UTC
LOL ...you know when I typed out 'deviation' I kind of KNEW it was'nt quite right but I was so shattered that my remaining brain cells were numb - either that or it was water on the brain from alll that rain

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS  :D :D :D :D

I saw someone with about 5 Belgians,  as I was walking to the Terrier Barn yesterday, they were lovely!
- By Goldmali Date 19.08.07 17:31 UTC
Could have been us LOL, myself, hubby and 2 friends had 5 Malinois together and somehow we seemed to attract a lot of attention from people, maybe because it's a bit unusual to see the breed and we had a group of 5.
- By Dill [gb] Date 19.08.07 17:39 UTC
AWWW!  :( I wish I'd thought to stop and say Hello!   All I could think of yesterday was the amount of mud my Bedlie was picking up in her fluffy bits as we walked to the barn and how to get it all off :(  maybe you saw us!  I'm the Dawn French looky likey (not!) with a blue Bedlington wearing a snazzy red whippet coat LOL
- By Goldmali Date 19.08.07 17:47 UTC
Well I DO remember seeing a Bedlington walk past as it happens! I'm very much on the large side, blonde hair, had a navy coat yesterday.

I felt so sorry for everyone with pale coloured and hairy dogs in that weather! With ours we got them clean by just wiping legs and tail down with babywipes, but I watched a poor exhibitor trying to get a Border Collie clean and it was a losing battle for sure with the white legs.
- By Dill [gb] Date 19.08.07 17:58 UTC
Ahhhhh but did the Bedlie have a bright red whippet coat on?  :) :)  she was the only one wearing a coat yesterday :)  most were trolleyed in to keep them clean.  Sorry, I noticed the dogs yesterday but not the people    normally I'd notice both and would have said Hi, but the rain and the mud.... :(

I felt really sorry for those with heavy coated dogs yesterday, some of the Beardies were filthy underneath :(  I was able to clean most of the muck off with diluted shampoo, wet wipes, towel and a bit of chalk brushed in and out, but she didn't look as clean as the others :(

Why is it that the lighter/white bits on a dog are always underneath - where they collect the most mud
