Yeah, I've got my first judging appointment for my breed for the end of next year as we come off the import register in January.  I really can't wait and hope that I get a good entry.

I've not judged for years as it's not really my cup of tea but must admit that I will thoroughly enjoy juding the Spanish over here,  Got my first judging appointment for the breed this September in Spain which again I'm looking forward to but I'm nervous about also as they judge completely differently over there :d

I'm judging at the end of the year too, not my first appointment, but like you, I haven't found it very enjoyable in the past. I get so so nervous, so I've declined a few things between times. This time though I had a tip off that I was going to be invited so I had three weeks or so to make a decision and get used to the idea. I came to the conclusion that my opinion is as valid as anyone elses and as long as I'm honest and true to myself, there is nothing to get wound up about. So now I just have to keep reminding myself of that and look forward to a lovely day. :)

Must say I don't particulary enjoy judging my own breeds but enjoy judging breeds I'm intretsed in.  Problem is I have to be careful of dogs I handle for others if I judge my own breeds too much.

Must admit I do have an appointment for SWD next year which I'm extreamly excited about.  already had booked my place on the seminar later this year so looking forward to that aswell :D

Good luck with judging in spain aswell.  I would love to judge aboard one day.  My Dad is off to Austia in 3 weeks to judge the 4 setters, I do envy him soooo much (Especially as the email about it originaly came into my inbox, not his! :D

Ohh yes Ive put your name down on the attending list for the seminar, are you allowed to say which show that you will be judging SWD at next year ????? as I'm compiling a list of shows with classes for us so that they can be passed around and try and get good entries ???

oh i remember my first judging apointment i was a bad of nerves lol! but i do love it!

I can still remember mine and um it was a number of years ago :d  But my BOB got res. BIS and my best puppy got pulled out in the final four, those were in the days when every breed stayed until the end and competed for BIS and BPIS not like today unfortunately.

Yeah I agree, it feels so good when your winners go on to win more. My first BOB won the Gundog group, so that was confirmation that that I didn't do too badly. :)
