Just a small one. Breed champ.show today, no CCs for Malinois this time. At our breed championship shows the dogs get graded continental style, and both my bitches were graded Excellent. Ripley then went on to win Best veteran bitch, best veteran in breed, and Reserve best bitch in breed. :)

well done Marianne - I'm sorry I did'nt stay to watch - it was Bijou's first show and she was very overwhelmed by it all - (ears ? what ears ?? :D) - so I took her home early- I thought it was very lacking in atmosphere for a breed Champ show - and a terrible entry - but a good venue

A Belgian has recently started coming to our training club and eveyone has fallen in love with him.  He recently won two good classes at an open show but unfortunately she'd put him in the wrong class so he couldn't go in for BPIS the judge told her that if she'd of been able to go in that she would of had a good chance of winning with him!! 

You don't have to go in a puppy class to go BPIB etc.  If your an unbeaten puppy you can challenge for BPIB etc.

If you had two pups you might enter one in puppy and one in another class,b ut both could challenge for teh Best puppy awards. 

She was SO pretty Yvonne -and I think she did well considering she's still a pup and has only just arrived here! You know what belgians are like and l've seen far worse! And although she was okay, my Rio was slightly overwhelmed by the venue for whatever reason. She was okay once she'd been inside for a while but freaked each time she entered the building for some reason. The mali BOB who usually is steadiness herself also freaked out during the BIS-judging so some dogs were bothered -goodness knows why.

Cheers everyone. :) Like Yvonne said it was by no means a fantastic entry, but we beat some top winning dogs including the first ever UK owned Malinois CC winner (the dog CC winner from Crufts 2006) to get best veteran so we were pleased.

Had to laugh at my husband, Ripley is so silly when I am around so I always hide when he handles her and sadly don't get to watch. So I was waiting in the car during the veteran and BOB judging. John came back with Ripley (empty handed I should add, he'd left all the rosettes, the food he won etc inside) and I asked how they'd done. He started saying oh she won the class then she went up against the dog winner and then against some bitch blah blah blah -I asked a few questions to clarify and his reply was "Oh I don't know, they just kept chucking rosettes at me, you'll have to read them to see what she won!" MEN eh! :D :D

Sounds like mine! He'll say 'George met a nice dog on our walk', I'll say 'what sort' and he'll say 'sort of medium and brownish'!! :rolleyes:

Must must must get to see you guys in action, I'll have to pm you watched one of our Met Mali's going through her paces last week, taking down an armed mark (simulated..firing blanks) she was stunning to watch, tenacity intelligence and even grace..I was blown away!
