DOes anyone do pressies for their pups. I do and I want some inaginative ideas. They don't need new toys (bought them some last month:)), the food bowls are fine (although the water bowl doesn't match my new kitchen but hubby says theres nowt wrong with it), their collars have got butterflies on so they're staying, I'm just stuck. I decided on a £10 limit (each ....... well I don't have children so the dogs get spoilt). Has anyone any suggestions?? What do others buy them or I am the only nutter here!!! :) :) :)
Nutter here too :D I just tend to wander around pets at home with a trolley and pop in whatever takes my eye :) They do some nice dog cushions that I might by for my boys for them to put their heads on in their beds. Other than that it is quite hard when dogs seem to have everything these days (just like my kids):D
Last year ours each(only had the 2 girls then) had a leg and wing from the turkey.....raw of course :D They enjoyed those more than any prezzie we have bought them, so probbaly the same this year but it is nice to buy new stuff for them.....or for our benefit :D :P

I buy mine loads! They also get all sorts of treats (but they have to work for them).
How about an activity ball, or a kong, or a fetch toy or a new plush toy? A dog can never have enough toys! - :-)
There are also these new 'groove' kongs that you can stuff the grooves with titbits of the kong stuffing paste. My dogs love it!
Ofcourse, home-made food at Christmas time is a real bonus!
Hope your doggies enjoy their holidays!
Cheers,
Patty
We have bought Alfie a Bakers treat ball complete with 3 different bags of treats that come with it.Think it cost 3.99 and you can get it from most supermarkets.

It's Bah Humbug all round here I'm afraid because I reckon the giblets will be a sublime Christmas present for the pup! If there's any paper left over from last year I might gift wrap them, of course :)

ooh glad you mentioned giblets, is it safe for a 7 mth old pup to have them, as normally I'd throw them away but if she could have them, I'd rather give them to her than throw away.

Well me being a thorough softie I'm planning to boil them up and chop 'em into dainty pieces accompanied by some gravy. But then I've got a small breed pup. Also, not being very fond of meat meself, I tend to use the more acceptably choppy uppy bits rather than saw my way through the bits that look too much like giblets. If this makes any sense!!!
Well nice to know I'm not the only nutter, but what a dilemia. New water bowl from Next arrived today but don't think I can keep it til the 24th!!!! Will definately get them some giblets (tasty!), and have seen a cool pink and purple reflective coat and collar. Only prob is convincing mr strooge that they really do need them! Wish me luck

How's this for nuttyness - many years ago I bought my chow a talking Count Duckula toy. He LOVED it thought he wasn't allowed to play with it, but if I wanted his attention or to get him to come to me anywhere in the house, I only had to make it talk and he's appear like magic!

My lot get a Santa Sack between them it always contains a squeaky or cuddly "christmas toy" each, lots of chewies etc, and something I make for them, this year we are having "Christmas Jingle Collars" in festive fabrics with little gold bells on them (last years had bows!) Puglet alsways gets extras too, this year a fur lined pink coat and hat set, and a pink furry bed.
bye

Not the only nutter !!!
My 2 cavvies have an advent calendar each (one for dogs !!) and I am buying them both a new bed and they get toys and treats.
Why not ?? They are part of my family afterall
Well so far they have new collars (not that there was anything wrong with the other ones) Mollys is purple with yellow bones and padded, Freya will have a bright pink one. OH did say he wouldn't walk Freya with it on but since I'm the one with her lead all the time doesn't really matter. Unfortunately he won't move an inch on the pink boat bed from petcrazee. So will make her a bright pink fur one out of spite and keep it in the living room for all to see!!!!!

Ours got Wiggly Giggly balls last year - the fun never stops :D :D
Don't know how to top that this year tho :( wanted some really fancy collars but can't fin the right ones :rolleyes;
I got a lovely soft padded collar for my old dog for christmas from pets at home for £5 :-) I also got him a stocking and lots of other things, too much to mention :-D
I have just got back from a shopping trip and got 2 stockings with WOOF knitted into them with a little pocket, I managed to get 2 xmas tree decs that were dogs exactly like Arthur and Lilly and now they are sat in the pouches hung on the fireplace so they know which one is which. They are VERY cute.
I also got new beds for them (£11 each), 16 pro tennis balls (£4.00), new brushes, 25 pigs ears (£3.50). Also got electronic mice about 8 inch that zig zag across the room calling to the dog and saying "here we go" I have already give them these we had hours of fun with them. How much cheaper is America!!? We get ripped off in this country.
Just got to wrap them now and send them to Father Christmas to deliver hee hee

It's okay Dill, I cut and pasted it into my browser. Thanks for the link!
25 pigs ears for £3.50?? May I ask where they are available from? They are VERY expensive in Pets at Home compared to that !! I expect my pup will get a Christmas stocking, along with some new toys. I have seen a noisy ball (not a wiggly giggly) and she is getting a small Kong and a pretty collar and...and ...and lol. I have seen so much I want for her and she obviously can't have it all. Hmmm....one rather spoiled puppy in the making.
The pigs ears were from Costco in America (sorry not very easy to get to) They cost me $6.00 for 25.

LOL Leanne - that's a long walk from over the pond :D :D :D
I'd like to get mine some fancy collars. The ones for whiopets with gorgeous Jacquard trim and tassles :D but no where can I find them and I don't really fancy paying import duty from the US :(
I've even tried to buy the Jacquard trim - but its very difficult to find in the UK :(
