Right I have finally found something the fiend of a beagle will it but it is bacon!  I get those value packs of bacon bits from Tescos now as she likes them I am assuming they probably wont be any good for her.  I also give them to the dallies so if JG reads this are they bad for them from the protien point of view!

Unless you're giving them half a pound at a time (in which case I'd be more concerned about the salt content!) I think they'll be fine. Anything in moderation!
:)

isnt bacon too salty to give dogs?

It's like all things - moderation! A little is fine - just as with people. Too much is bad.

Since when has that ever stopped anyone!  I have read worse advice than you give written in top selling books.  Give it a go you might surprise yourself. :)

Is your beagle really fussy with food? Thats rare as they are gannets as a rule. When i went to visit my pup in his litter, the adult dogs were eating anything that stayed still for longer than a second,(including rabbit poo uggg!!!). My boy will do anything if he thinks youve got food, and the vets first advise to me was to be careful as they usually get fat. Glad youve found something she likes though. Have fun with her.

I reckon!! I rarely see a slim,fit beagle,the majority resemble kegs on legs :(

I have got to agree the majority IMO are heavy beasts but if I want to show her I have to follow the crowd.   She looks very tiny in comparision with the others.  She adores poo full stop but when I give her ordinary food forget it she is very faddy.

mine likes poo too. I'd also like to show him, but he is my first dog and to be honest it seems to be a bit daunting. We are being careful with what he eats as he would keep going all day he's a right bloater!!

If you want to show him go to a few ringcraft lessons and enter a few opens to give you confidence.  Lucky we have been told is too small at the moment but experience has taught me that eventually if you show up long enough you get accepted. I agree she is tiny by comparision but am sticking with it as she is my daughters show dog and have seen many exhibitors knocked at the begining only to have them do better later.  I had it really easy with my dalmtians I was lucky enough to have a good example to start showing with and it was pure luck as I didnt have a clue what I was looking for and by a fluke managed to pick out a good one.
