hi just changed my dogs over to Naturediet and they love it, even my fussy eat woofed it down (excuse the pun!) does anyone know if you can buy it cheaper in bulk any where, thanks
- By Dawn-R Date 15.04.05 09:28 UTC
Hi, you can contact Naturediet directly, but you do have to order by post or phone. The e-mail is info@naturediet.co.uk

the more you order at once, the cheaper it gets. I order 6 cases at a time and it's £9.00 a case.

http://www.naturediet.net/index.html

They will deliver and you can buy it in bulk direct from them.

It is a very good food, and one I would feed myself, if I ever had to go down the commercial route.
- By Loganberry [gb] Date 15.04.05 09:33 UTC
what do you feed your dogs then tohme?
- By tohme Date 15.04.05 09:53 UTC
Raw

I have recently changed our dog to naturediet.    He woofs it down as well.  I microwave it for a minute so that it goes all soft and it smells delicious, if fact my daughter wanted it for her dinner the other day :-)
- By tohme Date 15.04.05 13:27 UTC
:D

I think some husbands HAVE actually eaten it........... :D
- By Anna [gb] Date 15.04.05 15:55 UTC
What when they have been naughty :-)  It does smell nice though.

Is naturediet highly recommended for long coated dogs?  I am a new puppy owner and i am still looking for a food that he loves and provide all the nutrients for that lovely glossy coat

Regards,

Daisy

Daisy, I have a collie cross with a fairly long VERY fine coat - she has Naturediet on its own, nothing added - she's now 13 and still receiving comments on her great coat (we'll ignore the fluffy bits she's developed since she was speyed :( )
- By daisy13110 [gb] Date 24.04.05 19:36 UTC
Digger thanks for that and may you have and her have many more happy years together :o)

I buy from Naturediet in bulk but I collect from the factory, I pay £6.70 per case of 18, this is their cash and carry price and you must order over 20 cases.
- By Natalie1212 Date 23.04.05 16:00 UTC
Is Naturediet dry or tinned food? When you say a case, what is included? I have heard alot about how good it is for dog's, and that a lot of dogs love it, but not found out much more!
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 23.04.05 16:02 UTC
Naturediet is a vacuum-packed wet food in individual trays. A bit like tinned, but different, if you see what I mean (probably not!)
:)
- By Natalie1212 Date 23.04.05 16:04 UTC
So a little bit like the single pouches you get for cats? how many pouches would there be in a case then?

BTW thanks for letting me know!
- By dvnbiker [gb] Date 23.04.05 19:38 UTC
Natalie, you get 18 packets in a case and each packet is 400g I believe.  I pay about £10.50 per case from my local pet shop.

Does anyone here feed naturediet with any dry food? Or is it just designed to be eaten on its own? I am really interested in feeding my puppy Naturediet as I am suspicious of some of the big brand feeds that seem to contain a lot of unnecessary bulk or unnamed elements in their food (I have heard dark mutterings about pedigree chum....). My dog is going to be a long coat German Shepherd.
Also, when my mother-in-law got her last puppy, the little mite went through a dickie tummy stage after her first vaccinations, and so she was advised to give her chicken and rice or rice noodles and chicken for a few days. For one, does it matter if you use brown or white rice, and also, is it acceptable to give your dog something like this a few times a month just as a treat, or should it only be fed for tummy upsets?

Unfortunately my pup has turned his nose up at Naturediet, so I steaming ahead and Im going to try him on Natures Menu (50% chicken) which my mums FUSSY Sheltie wolfed down yesterday. Whilst I investigate the raw diet. Im I right in saying you cant feed raw food alongside Commercial food such as Naturediet and Natures Menu? Or was it Burns?

See why I need to read more!

AAww bless the picky little mite ;) Michelled what do you feed him then?

Your not alone on the lamb breast,my dogs dont really like it either! I would think a big, fatty hunk of meat would be irrisistable  However they adore lamb ribs, which is  the breast but with the majority of the meat taken off

My dogs taste are more refined than my kids  ;)
- By michelled [gb] Date 11.05.05 15:32 UTC

- By Edy [gb] Date 11.05.05 15:42 UTC
I was suprised myself, took me awhile to find it. When I did I presented it to Mr D, thinking  Oh boy is he gonna love me for this. He sniffed it and walked off and sat sulking with his bottom lip stuck out.

my boys turn their noses up at naturediet too, but will eat it eventually if you starve them for long enough :D :D
- By spaniel-lover [gb] Date 12.05.05 09:46 UTC
Have you tried microwaving it?  My aunt's fussy border terrier didn't look twice at it until it was warmed and then he couldn't get enough of it! :D
- By ChinaBlue [gb] Date 13.05.05 15:39 UTC
My new long haired GSD pup is on Naturediet puppy and Nutro puppy. I microwave the naturediet for a minute, andhe just adores it - I still can't believe how much he eats. Oh and by the way - he does fabulous firm poo's!!

I've just tried my fussy parsons puppy on it she's eaten two meals... this is a first but she's not woolfing it down, gonna try the microwave next! She doesn't like any of the James Welbeloved, or bakers puppy (which is what breeder had her on), even if u put gravy, or goats milk with it! However she is currently trashing the front room by throwing her first pigs ear everywhere..... shes having a ball.....!!
- By Keithf [gb] Date 18.05.05 20:58 UTC
My 11 weeks old Golden Retriever pup has not been eating well, he was on James Wellbeloved, which initially he ate well after coming off Pedogree.
Today I gave him his JWB mixed with about 1/3 pack of naturediet puppy. He demolished the lot in 2 minutes and sat there looking at me until I gave him some extra.
I am seriously considering sticking with this as a mixed half and half feed so that his teeth get the benefit of crunching up the kibble but he also gets the pleaseure of the naturediet that he seems to like so much.
Though Naturediet is designed as a complete feed I see no reason why it cannot be mixed with another premium product if that is what you want to do as long as you adjust the amounts accordingly.
helps keep the cost down a bit as well.
- By tuti [gb] Date 19.05.05 19:13 UTC
I mix my pup's ND with Burns and he loves it :) I don't see why this would be a problem.

Sometimes I'll put a bit extra in there, yesterday it was some peas, today as it was cold and wet I made a warm gravy with the ND and he wolfed it down in about 30 sec!!
- By lazydaze [gb] Date 22.05.05 09:06 UTC
Just wondering is Natures menu as good as Naturediet?
Mine loves the menu one :)
Mix it with small bite mixer and shes fine on it.

We have found that Nature Menu is the only think Barbie will eat for more than 2 days running. I would like to know if anyone has used it for any length of time
