I'm feeding James Wellbeloved to my 10 wk lab puppy which seems to be ok except for one problem. Boy, is he windy!! Talk about silent but deadly!!
I was wondering if it may be the food and have been considering switching to Burns. I don't know if this wil solve the problem or whether he's just going to be a smelly pup. My older Lab was raised on Burns ok, although she is very very slim, I wonder if this is because of the low protein in Burns puppy food compared to some of the other foods available.
What do others think about feeding Burns to a lab puppy. I worry about whether growth will be affected by low protein in the long term.
Thanks for your thoughts

How long has your puppy been having JWB? did you change him gradually? or overnight? this may cause windyness ;) if this is the case a little bio yoghurt with his food may help to settle things down :)
On the other hand if he's always had JWB it may be that changing him to Burns puppy would make a difference :) IMHO a puppy fed on Burns puppy would grow at just the right pace, a fast growing Lab is not necessarily a good thing and as you say your other Lab has done well on it. As long as the pup feels right and is nicely covered on his food then he's getting enough. The protein amount in Burns isn't really that low, just in comparison with some of the other brands.
What treats does he get? it may be that something else he's getting is causing the windyness and pong ?
