hi there, wondering if anyone can shed any light on any suppliers who will deliver to the Heathrow area? I have my X-Collie & St Bernard on this food and I have been trying to find a supplier to deliver? and hopefully it will be cheaper? Sometimes I get them on a good deal from Pets At Home? but other times i pay about £20 per sack? I know they are not extremely expensive But my St Bernard eats a lot!

Hi Karlai,

CAnt help you with suppliers, never have and never will feed pal :(

Did you know if you upgraded to a better food without all the fillers and additives pal uses you would end up feeding much less and saving money, as the more premium foods are much more nutritonally dense hence having to feed less :) ? Dont compare prices  per bag ,but per feed :)

This is what i look for in a food: The first ingredient should ALWAYS be meat, preferably the second and third also, chicken(meal)turkey(meal) etc. not meat derivatives, poultry meal or meat by-products,you have no idea what kind of meat you are getting :( There should be no corn gluten, soy, wheat whiddlings or anything other than rice, barley amaranth etc.,and absolutely nothing that end with by-product.
Bear in mind i have extremely high standards when it comes to what goes into my dogs bowls,i wouldnt feed 99% of the pet foods available!I wouldnt feed anything vailable in the supermarkets.

I feed eaglepack holistic chicken http://postalpets.co.ukthey also have other varieties,Burns is an o.k food, but i dont like rice being the first ingredient   Wet foods: naturediet is a good one :)

I also feed raw, homecooked and plenty of raw meaty bones :)

Rose,
So u dont think that the other premiums brands are any goods, been looking into Pro Plan? I also have heard good things about Fromm foods?

Rose - I thought all dry commercial diets were cereal based.   Is Eagle meat based.  I looked up the link but could not find the ingredients.

Seddie yeah most dry foods have cereal in them,it's the quality of cereal that bothers me.

Eagle pack has meat as the first ingredient, here are the ingredients:

Chicken Meal, Ground Brown Rice, Whole Ground Barley, Fish Meal, Chicken, Chicken Fat (preserved with natural mixed tocopherols citric acid and rosemary extract), Pork Meal, Dried Beet Pulp, Amaranth, Oatmeal, Tomato Pomace, Dried Whole Egg, Flaxseed, Canola Oil, Dehydrated Apples, Cheese Meal, Ground Carrot Cubes, Air Dried Peas, Sun-Cured Alfalfa, Salt, Potassium Chlorine, Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Vitamin-mineral fortified and Wellness for Life Nutrition -- *Dehydrated Kelp, *Yucca Schidigera Extract, *Chicory Root Extract, *Beta-Carotene, *Dandelion and *Garlic.

I still think it's got too much grain, but the rest of the ingreients are top class, what do ya do?? :)

Arden Grange are a good range of premium foods.  /they are also listed as one of the companies who don';t do any anumal testing.
