My bitch is on day 46 and has decided that she really doesn't fancy eating her burns anymore. She has been getting burns mixed with tripe as I couldn't get enough burns into her without it giving her the runs. She really settled on burns and tripe and so far has been doing well. She was scanned for 3 puppies possibly more. She has stopped eating the burns biscuits but will happily eat anything raw, she had minced beef, chicken wings, tuna and some tripe yesterday. So far today she has had more chicken wings, some pilchards and tuna and I'm defrosting some mince beef for her dinner, I have various veg in my fridge can she have this too? I am feeding her as and when she feels hungry, she is particularly fond of the chicken wings, I am really want to make sure I do whats best for her and I know lots of you have had experiences with raw feeding I just need some help. ie do I need to give her any supplements or if I get the correct mix of foods right will she get everything she needs, can I feed her anything raw and will it do the puppies any harm?

You can feed her any raw meat although I find turkey a bit rich for mine.I feed veges...some don't.I buy loads of veg then put it in a food processor and blitz it.(no onion).I then add liver,hearts and a little kidney and blitz that too.I then freeze in portion sizes and defast as needed.They love it mixed with their tripe or with tinned fish.Be careful that she doesn't get too much RMB(eg chicken wings) as this can cause constipation.I feed about 30-40% RMB(raw meaty bones)
I don't suppliment but don't have breeding bitches so I'm sure someone will come along and advise you on that

Our bitches are all fed a raw diet and we find that they all go off their RMBs a few days before whelping. We then give them whatever they will eat, including heart, liver, minced beef and chicken wings.

You will find that this preference lasts until the pups are a couple of weeks old, and then she should start eating her former diet again.

If she will not eat for the few days after the birth, feed her plenty of gruel (a cup of porridge oats, two cups of water, a raw egg, a big spoonful of honey, another of Complan and a big spoonful of glucose. Boil it up until thick, dilute with a cup of milk and cool before feeding, the bitches love it!) and try chicken wings. If you let her birth naturally and devour the afterbirths, this will keep her nourished for a day or two while she gets back her appetite.
